Note from Mary Lou: My second time out in The Spitfire Grill was postponed at the Hackmatack Playhouse when the 2020 theatre season went dark across the country. The Ghost Light held the space for us while we waited and hoped to return. The Spitfire Grill finally opened August 6-28, 2021. Here’s the trailer for that memorable show:
Mary Lou Bagley is a well-known Seacoast actress living in South Berwick, Maine. She has portrayed a diversity of characters on area stages including: Hannah Ferguson in The Spitfire Grill; both Truvy and Ouiser (“Spotlight on the Arts Award” recipient for Best Actress in a Play) in Steel Magnolias; Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest; Lola in Come Back, Little Sheba; Sister George in The Killing of Sister George; Olive Madison in The Odd Couple, Female Version; Reverend Mother in Nunsense; Charlotte Schoen in Lettice and Lovage; Colleen in Chinese Checkers; and herself in, Collage: Zany Bits & Some Serious Stuff.
Mary Lou worked frequently with Kent Stephens’ STAGE FORCE. Play readings include: 100 Saints You Should Know, Murderers, The Shaker Chair, Rabbit Hole, Four Places, and Regrets Only. In full stage productions, she played “Nana” in Uncle Vanya In Maine and multiple principal characters in Time Stitches, a theatrical response to the Thread Exhibit at Strawbery Banke and in two runs of Lamplight Dialogues.
With NH writer and performer, Ken Sheldon, (aka Fred Marple) Mary Lou guested as one of the Players in all performances of the Spring 2014 edition of Frost Heaves with Fred Marple and the Speed Bumps.
Her film experience includes commercials, educational/industrial films, documentaries, docu-drama, and feature films.
Her principal role in Islander filmed on Vinalhaven in Maine, [NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON PRIME VIDEO] earned her membership in The Screen Actors Guild, now SAG-AFTRA.
She also appears in Anatomy of the Tide.
